Kind to the reef. Devoted to your skin.

Sun of a Beach is premium, marine-grade skincare built specifically for freedivers. Since 2018, we’ve been perfecting a high-performance formula that holds up to the pressure—so you never have to compromise the reefs just to keep your face protected.

Ingredients:

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Witch Hazel Hydrosol, Sodium Hyaluronate + Hyaluronic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin, Seaweed Extract, Cucumber Extract, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Sunflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Carrot Seed Oil, Sugarcane Extract, Avocado Oil, Allantoin, Bamboo Bio-Water, Vitamins A, C, E, Vitamin F Forte™, Leucidal©.

How to Use:

  1. Apply: Massage 1 to 2 pumps onto clean skin 15–20 minutes before your breath-hold.
  2. Surface: Reapply after towel-drying for all-day training sessions.

Is it really Reef Safe?

Yes, this formula is highly reef-safe.

  • Mineral Filters: It uses Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, which are the gold standard for reef-safe sun protection. Unlike chemical filters (like Oxybenzone or Octinoxate), these minerals sit on top of the skin and do not cause coral bleaching.
  • Clean Additives: The rest of the ingredients are mostly plant extracts (Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber) and natural oils (Jojoba, Avocado). It avoids parabens and synthetic fragrances, which are often hidden sources of marine toxicity.

Does it last in seawater?

It is designed for active water use, but performance depends on application.

  • The Lipid Barrier: While "waterproof" is a common term, we prefer to be accurate: it is highly water-resistant. We use a blend of vegetable glycerin and natural oils (Sunflower, Jojoba, and Avocado) to create a protective lipid barrier. This helps the zinc "grip" your skin and stay put even when submerged.
  • The Gel Advantage: Unlike thick, waxy "surf pastes" that sit heavily on the surface, our gel formula is designed for comfort and fast absorption. It feels weightless on the skin, though it may require more frequent reapplication than a heavy paste if you are doing high-friction activities like long-distance swimming or heavy surfing.
  • Best Practice: For the best stay-on power, allow the gel to "set" for 15 minutes before jumping in. This ensures the oils have bonded with your skin for a long-lasting shield.

It good for Freediving?

It is a very good choice for freedivers, with a few tips:

  • No "Sting" Formula: Freedivers often deal with mask fogging or water entering the mask. Because this formula uses Witch Hazel and Aloe instead of harsh alcohols and synthetic perfumes, it is much less likely to sting your eyes if it runs.
  • Skin Hydration: Freediving in saltwater can be very dehydrating for the skin. The inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid, Seaweed Extract, and Bamboo Bio-Water helps maintain your skin’s moisture barrier while you're in the water.
  • Application Tip: For freediving, apply this at least 15–20 minutes before you get into the water. This allows the oils and minerals to "set" on your skin, preventing it from washing off the moment you duck-dive.

Summary Verdict:

Reef Safe: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Excellent)

Durability: ⭐⭐⭐ (Good, but reapply after long sessions)

Freediving Suitability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Very good; eye-friendly and hydrating)

Recommendation: It’s a great local find for eco-conscious divers. Just remember that if you are doing a long 2-3 hour session, you should definitely reapply once you’re back on the boat or shore.
